Notes on the Book of the Revelation of Yah
The book begins with John explaining that Yah (Yahveh or Yahweh) gave this Apocalypse (unveiling) to Yahshuah the Messiah who gave it to angels who communicated it to John.
Yahveh revealed it to Yahshuah so he would know what would shortly befall his disciples.
We are not told if Yahshuah received this revelation before He died at Jerusalem, or after he ascended
to heaven.
Neither Yahveh nor Yahshuah speak directly to John it is all done by the angels who as their mouth pieces
speaks their words. This often confuses beginners and they mistake the angel with fire from his eyes for
Yahshuah. So it is important at the outset to realize when the angel says "I am Alpha and Omega",
he speaks
as the representative of God and God speaks through him. Or when the angels says "I was dead" it is Yahshuah speaking
through him.
John says the Revelation comes from three sources:
- Yahveh who is, and who was, and who is to come.
- The seven Spirits (angels -Elohim-Messengers) who stand before Yahveh's throne.
- Yahshuah, the only begotten son of God, the first man to gain immortality, the Messiah.
John hears Yahveh speaking through an angel telling him to write down what he sees and send it to the seven new communities of the New Israel in Asia. John turns to see who is speaking. He does not see Yahveh but sees a spirit being (angel)
who looks like a man (he looks a bit like Yahshuah) standing amidst Seven Menorahs
holding seven stars in his right hand.
This is not Yahshuah, but the same spirit (angel) who visited Daniel
"his body also (was) like the beryl and his face as the appearance of lightning and his eyes like lamps of fire and his arms and feet like in colour to polished brass and
the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude." -
( Dan.10:6).
The Revelation Angel
Yahshuah speaks through this angel.
The angel has white hair, a two-edged sword
coming from his mouth, his feet are glowing like burnished bronze and his face is shining like the sun.
The sword coming from his mouth is symbolic of the Word of God. This spirit being (angel) tells John that
the seven menorahs represent the seven new communities of the New Israel to whom John is to send what he writes.
