The Two Lost Angels
The Two most important angels of the New Testament have been lost in translation.
Compared to Hebrew, Greek is a pale language to convey Hebrew ideas. Making an English translation from Greek
makes the pale even paler. As a result two angels were lost in rranslation: The Logos Wisdom angel and the Angel of the Truth. Both of these two angels play important roles in
salvation.
Here is the problem Greek has only one word for spirit and English has only one word for spirit. But there are many spirit's in the Hebrew
cosmology. God (El Shaddai) is a spirit, and demons are also spirits. So when a translator comes to a text in Greek that says pneuma (spirit),
the translator must decide,
"Is this referring to El Shaddai, demons, or perhaps breath, or mind or maybe even angels?" This gives translators too much power. By
that I mean if you look at the way translators ignored direct objects
and indirect objects dealing with
Pneuma it becomes apparent that a translator can easily introduce preconceived ideas into the translation.
Let's start with the superme Elohim (God), El Shaddai. He is a spirit. He is invisible and without a shadow of evil. He is love.
Both John and Jesus said no one has ever seen him. Jesus adds nor heard his voice.
According to Hebrew thought, El Shaddai only interacts with his creation by sending emissaries, agents, mediators, ambassadors.
Some of these agents are spirit beings that can appear as men.
The Greeks used the word agellos (messengers) and the English call them angels.
Since these ambassadors stood in the place of El Shaddai they were often called El Shaddai which confuses we English speakers
in the 21st Century, but it did not confuse the Hebrews. There was one special angel that appeared to many people
throughout the Old Testament. It was called the Angel of El Shaddai's Presence, or "El Shaddai"
Everyone understood it was the agent of El Shaddai and not God himself. People like Jacob and Manoah who met this angel
feared they had seen
El Shaddai himself and thought they would surely die.
All the angels, and other spirits, were created by El Shaddai, so they are called his sons and daughters (elohim).
El Shaddai is the supreme Elohim and his spirit children are also called elohim. The Hebrew word elohim is problematic for it is also used of El Shaddai's
Human ambassadors. Moses was called an Elohim as was Samuel and even Jesus. The 17 judges of Israel were called elohim.
We must never worship an ambassador, but only El Shaddai.
To worship a human elohim or an angelic elohim is idolatry.
One of the names for the special angel was the Logos. Philo a 1st Century writer identified the Logos as an angel "He calls the Logos the "archangel of many names,"

The Angel of El Shaddai's Presence is not only called the Logos, but according to Proverbs 8 was the first born spirit out of
El Shaddai's mouth -Wisdom,
the archictect. El Shaddai made all things by the Logos Wisdom Angel/the architect/the Angel of his presence. It was this angel who
spoke to Moses in the burning bush, led the
children of Israel out of the wilderness, gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, appeared to Manoah and Gideon, saved Daniel
from the Lions, spoke to the prophets and
came down upon Jesus at the Jordah River.
Jesus said
"The spirit of the Lord is upon me." The Angel of El Shaddai is upon me. "He has anointed me" (Lk 4:18) The body of Jesus was the temple for the Logos Wisdom angel.
Mat 8:16
When the evening was come, they brought unto Jesus many that were possessed with devils: and he (Jesus) cast out the
spirits with his Logos, and healed all that were sick.
Jesus said:
"If you then, being fallible/weak/evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall
your Father who is in Heaven give the Good/Pure spirit/angel to those
who ask Him?" (Luke 11:13)
Sample Prayer:
El Shaddai please give me the good angel that led Jesus, so I can be all you have planned for me. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Jesus said when he reached heaven; he
would petition the father to send another
Pneuma/elohim -The Angel of the Truth to
dwell inside each of his followers.
The 4th Century Greek Gnostics said this Angel of the Truth was God, the third member of the Trinity. But it is only a messenger. Look how Jesus described it.
For it will not speak from its own mind; but
whatever it hears, that will it speak.
Since it is not free to speak its own mind, it cannot be God. However it does have a mission to teach what it has heard.
The Angel of the Truth's Mission is to
- aid the believers in recalling word for word everything the Father had spoken through Jesus
- To clear up the parables and dark sayings Jesus spoke
- to explain everything about sin
- to explain everything about obtaining righteousness
- to explain everything about the fall of Azazel (Satan), the ruler of this world
- to explain about the return of Jesus
So you can see Christians cannot really function without this angel.
I believe the best way to describe this second angel should be "Interpreter-Historian-Orator-Spirit-Angel-truth-teller"
Sample Prayer
Jesus, I need the Angel of the Truth to teach me, please have father send it to me now. Amen.
