Is Yah Completely in Control?

Theologians tell us God  (Yah) knows everything past present and future (he is omniscient) and he is all powerful (omnipotent).

Gensis 6 give us a different picture of Yah. It says:

Gen 6:5 And Yah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

It seems to me that If Yah was in complete control and could see the future, then  he has no right to be grieved in his heart for creating humans that he knew would turn vile. Repenting means he is admitting he made a mistake. To be omniscient and omnipotent means you cannot make mistakes.

In the Exodus Yah gets so angry he says he is going to destroy the rebellious Israelites, but Moses stops him,

And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

If a man can make Yah change his mind, then perhaps he is not in complete control. Knowing the future and having all power to control it means you would never change your mind, and of course never be angry since you know the cause and the outcome, and everything is following your plan.

The Sovereignty Doctrine

Most preachers tell you Yah is sovereign. It's a word found in old English translations. The word in Hebrew is Malkuwth  (Malk is king so Malkuwth is Kingdom. To say God is soverign means his kingdom rules over every other kingdom and  nothing happens without his permission. There are two problems with the Sovereignty teaching:

1. The Sovereignty Doctrine makes Yah responsible for wars, violent earthquakes, diseases and every form of evil. To have the power to permit, or not permit makes you responsible. If you permit a disaster, that means you give your approval. If Yah could have stopped 9/11, but gave his approval, then he is ultimately the one guilty.

2. The Sovereignty Doctrine eliminates free will. If every thing is predestined and predetermined, then people are puppets. If I am a puppet, I cannot be charged with sin for I am only doing what I was predetermined to do. Yah would be unjust to send me to hell for having been born with a sin defect, if I then sin. If as the Muslims, and Paul, say Yah saves and condemns whoever he wills, then life becomes a cruel play, with Yah as the cruel  puppeteer who plans to only save a few chosen puppets for eternal life and burn billions in the fires of hell.

The Gospel of Yahshuah

Sovereignty seems to be the Gospel of Paul.  But in the Gospel of Yahshuah, Yahshuah tells us that Satan is the ruler of this world ( Kosmokrator = ruler of the cosmos). (John 14:30)

If Satan rules our cosmos then, Yah does not have complete control.  In fact, Yahshuah's mission was to redeem us (the little flock) from Satan's control.  He said, "I have come to give my life as a ransom." The person who exacts the ransom is usually a kidnapper and has the power over the transaction. Satan like a kidnapper  held humans in his power and Jesus came to pay the ransom.

So Who Controls the Field (the world)?

Another time, Yahshuah told a parable about a farmer who planted good seeds in his field and while he slept, his enemy came and planted bad seeds in the field. (Mt. 13:24) Yahshuah explained the parable saying the field was the world.

This tells me that Satan has great destructive power over the field  that the farmer cannot control. That also means that if Yah is not in complete control, then he is not responsible for the 9/11s, wars, tsunamis, epidemics, starvation and other evil things that happen. At this stage of history, Yah neither approves, or allows, nor is able to stop much that we call evil.

If  Yah was in complete control and his will was being done on the earth, then we would not have been instructed to pray  for his will to be done. Yahshuah taught us to pray:

Or Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

What Exactly is the Father's Will?

And what is the Father's will? To stop earthquakes, wars, or fight crime? His will is for us to come home to his kingdom.

In the parable of the Prodigal son, the father was powerless to find his son, he could not pull him out of his life of clubbing and debauchery . He could not help him financially, nor cure his starvation. His will was for the son to come home. That is the Father's will for us. He is calling his children to come home. Love not the world nor the things of the world, but seek ye first his kingdom. Do not fret that the evil one controls this planet, just set your face towards home.

What About Free Will?

Of course you have free will. Yahshuah said "If you do not forgive others, the Father cannot forgive you." You have the power to choose to forgive, or not forgive. You have the power to obey the teachings (logos) of Yahshuah, or not. The prodigal son had the choice to stay in the pig-sty, or to return home. You have the choice to love Yah, or love the world.

Your love for Yah is like the beam of a teeter totter. The more you love the world the less you will love Yah and the more you love Yah, the less you will love this earth life.

Doesn't Yahshuah Now Have All Power?

After his resurrection,Yahshuah  told his disciples, "all exousia in heaven and earth has been given unto me." (Mt. 28:18).

The KJV says "all power has been given unto me."

If it meant he had all control, the word would have been dunimas. He has all authority, but until the Kingdom comes on the Resurrection Day he does not have full control. Obviously if he had full control the world would not be as it is today. Nor does he seem to want to reform the earth. He is calling us to renounce earth life. Renouncing psyche earth life we long for zoe life with him and the father.

Conclusion

The world is a much more dangerous place than you want to believe. You have hard choices to make. You are not alone, the Shepherd will guide you, but you cannot count on pre-destiny or divine intervention. You have only one goal and that is to be called forth from your grave on the Resurrection day into the kingdom. Every choice you make must lead you to that goal. You cannot expect to not get sick, not to be poor, not to be caught in earthquakes, or car wrecks, or wars. The Father loves you and is calling you home; forsaking all else go to him.
